Hello, my name is Alma Hudson. I would like to suggest my book, Checkered Fences, for a book review or reading. It's an adult fiction based upon my life growing up in the 60's & 70's, political & social changes at that time, and an interracial relationship. I wrote it with the election of our first black president in mind. My website is www.eloquentbooks.com/CheckeredFences.htlm.

I'm happy to say my book A Story Almost told has been published at www.jordisbooks.com. Here's a little bit about it:
"A Story Almost Told tells the true life adventure I lived for two years of my life. I know, I know everyone's life is an adventure. Does everyone's adventure include police on three continents? A Romanov princess? FBI & IRS stings? Rick James, Linda Grey and McFadden & Whitehead? Gov. Pat Brown and Dick Martin? How about being chased by the internal security forces of South Africa during the dying days of apartheid's emergency rules? Being arrested in New Orleans? You get to see the opulence of Monte Carlo and Beverly Hills contrasted with the horror of Soweto during apartheid and homelessness. All of the above and more are woven into the tapestry of A Story Almost Told. Remember, truth is often stranger and more exciting than fiction." I hope you enjoy. My secopnd novel, "Feast Days of the Saints" is scheduled for release in early May of this year. The story follows a family whose son is an aspiring professional cyclist who begins to take performance enhancing drugs, and in an effort to deflect attention from this as long as he can, he accuses his father of a heinous crime. The father is a pompous and arrogant retired professor and becomes an easy an obvious target of an international investigation. The book is set in the South of France, the Swiss alps and Eastern Washington.

About books, a quote from "Paradise Found in Two Worlds" by Georgette Dorn, about the novel Paradise by Elena Castedo: "All lovers of literature want to know how a literary success comes about. In Castedo's case, she claims to be the one most surprised." In resume, her first novel was a finalist for the National Book Award,, "critical response has been overwhelmingly positive," her self-translation "El paraiso" was a best-seller in Spain and in Latin-America for a year. Do members of this book club like to read true life stories. I didn't have any confidence as a child because I wasn't given any praise or encouragement and I was bullied. When I left school I wanted to go to college to study horticulture, my sister told me that I couldn't do it, my mum and brother just laughed at me. I didn't go to college because I couldn't live with my sister being jealous of me. It tirns out I am inteelligent, I have a good imagination, artistic intelligence, and creativity. My book is available to buy on line from chipmunka publishing. It is titled Darkened Light.
